Frequently Asked Questions

How did you choose the school subject sort fields?

The existing subjects for sorting in the database were generated based on State of California and federal standards. Each subject covers a number of different areas , which have been placed underneath the appropriate subject, in order to standardize how projects are sorted.

Who made this archive and who manages the content within?

The HTH GSE Archive was created in response to the issue that in large organizations, such as HTH, information can sometimes be lost or misplaced. In order to solve this issue members of the GSE Communications Department, designed this archive, and have catalogued all data that appears within.

What is the difference between a “database” and an “archive”?

While a “Database” is a collection of related media,  the “Archive” is where that information lives. The archive is a collection of databases which have been packaged and made searchable on this website. For more definitions, head over to [DEF PAGE LINK]

What is a database?

A “Database” is a collection of media, writings, and/or activity prompts from a singular source generated within HTH. This source can be a previously constructed online course or a collection of  entries related to a specific collection. For more definitions, head over to [DB PAGE LINK]

I have an idea for a database to be added to the archive! What do I do next?

If you know of something that should be added into the HTH GSE Archive, please head over to our Bontact Us page [Link] and submit a request. Choose “Add a New Database” as your subject and the HTH GSE Archive team will get back to you to start the review process. Any courses, tests, projects, etc must go through a review process in order to be uploaded into the HTH GSE Archive.

I found something that doesn’t work, what do I do?

If you find a bug on the site, some mislabeled information, or something that doesn’t work head over yo the Bontact Us page [Link] and submit a request. Choose either the database you found an issue with, or “Site Issue” if you found a bug on the site, as your subject and the HTH GSE Archive team will look into it.

I cannot find something I know I saw before in the archive. Where is it?

You may want to try different search terms, or double check you have the correct database selected in the sorting. We do not typically remove items from the database from public view after they’ve been uploaded, but keep in mind some items or media are only viewable if you download the full database. (This is done to keep the database from being cluttered with entries for one word titles or repeat pieces of media)

How can I help expand the HTH GSE archive?

If you want to add your project/course/or more to the HTH GSE Archive, or know someone who has something to addd, please head to the Contact Us page and select “Add a New Database” as your subject and the HTH GSE Archive team will get back to you to start the review process. Any courses, tests, projects, etc must go through a review process in order to be uploaded into the HTH GSE Archive.

Can I download multiple items from the archive at once?

Currently, the HTH GSE Archive only allows the functionality to either download single items at a time, or entire databases at once. We are currently examining how to add functionality that allows for multiple downloads of items at once.

How do I add/edit an entry?

In this initial build of the HTH GSE Archive we do not have the native ability for users to add or edit entries. While we are building out that feature you are invited to contact our website team directly and submit a request to add and/or edit any existing entry.
