I am a San Diego Native and have been a San Diego elementary school teacher for ten years, working in profoundly different school settings, from Barrio Logan to Coronado and El Cajon. I have a Theater Arts degree, Master of Education, in Policy Studies in Language and Cross-cultural Education and Critical Pedagogy, and now I am attending school in the Fall to get my Masters in Counseling. I have lived abroad in Indonesia and Germany for four years. In both countries, I learned firsthand what it was like to be an outsider facing a lack of language ability, cultural knowledge, friends, or a support system. These challenges helped me become more resilient, and with grit and determination, I began to thrive and build support systems in these amazing cultures. Besides traveling, I love musical theater, running, biking, and enjoying good food!
