Cate Challen is an educator and improvement coach working within the Center for Research on Equity & Innovation. Prior to joining High Tech High’s Graduate School of Education, Cate taught high school mathematics, biology and physics, following a ten year career in biotechnology. During her career as a mathematics educator, Cate emphasized student-centered instructional techniques and has facilitated workshops on alternative assessment strategies in mathematics. Cate earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Doctorate in Biotechnology from the University of Queensland, Australia and is an Encorps Fellow.
